Tryptich

The website says it perfectly: Tryptich is the best kept secret South of Market Street. Following my depressing post about Lime I feel it only necessary to post about my favorite brunch location (recently attended). I've been to Tryptich now 5 times--that's a lot of times to go to one place! And every time I'm pleased.

The breakdown:

Pourability: 9/10
Not only do they have several flavors to choose from (OJ, Mango and Raspberry), but for a very reasonable price and entree you can drink as much as you'd like. They'll start you out on glasses, but they know the real deal--people love champagne and mingling. Even if you're not looking to drink a lot, their coffee drinks and quality of juice makes just one or two drinks fabulous.

Ambiance: 9/10
I. Love. This. Space. They've done amazing things with the ceilings and local art work to make the entire space feel fabulous. Not only do you feel cozy the instant you walk in, but its non-dominating presence allows you to mold your morning (afternoon sometimes...) into whatever experience you'd like. Beyond that, their staff IS AMAZING. Not ever have I experienced an inattentive or uninteresting server--they're always willing to mingle, chat and discuss what's going on. You'll feel like a star here.

Food: 9/10
By far one of the best food locations in SF for brunch. The fact that their eggs are cage free is only a side-benefit too. Every time I go I get something new and I'm always impressed. Beignets are a must to split with your group ahead of time and I highly recommend the fromage omelet.

Overall score: 27/30

Bottom line: If you haven't gone here go, if you have gone go again.

  1. "Fromage Omelet" is perhaps one of the biggest understatements in menu history.

Goat cheese + avocado sauce + tater tots = Lime, go fuck yourself.
